Privacy policy

Who I am

This website is run by Jason Simons, a sole trader trading as Jason Simons Entertainment, based in South Wales. I am the data controller for the personal information described on this page. What information I collect

• Through the booking enquiry form: your name and email address, your phone number if you give it, the type of entertainment, the event date and start time, the type of event, the approximate number of guests, the venue or location, and anything else you choose to tell me about your event.
• If you call or message me on WhatsApp: the information you share in that conversation.
• When you visit this website: the company that hosts it, Cloudflare, receives technical information such as your IP address and browser type so that it can deliver the pages and keep the site secure.

How I use it

• To reply to your enquiry and check my availability.
• To give you a quote.
• If you book, to arrange your entertainment and keep booking and invoice records.

I do not use your details for marketing, add you to a mailing list or sell your information.

My lawful basis

• Replying to your enquiry, giving a quote and arranging a booking: you have asked me to take these steps before we agree a booking, and they are needed to carry it out if you book (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
• Keeping booking and invoice records: to meet my legal obligations, such as keeping tax records (Article 6(1)(c)).
• Keeping unsuccessful enquiries for up to 12 months, and protecting the enquiry form from spam: my legitimate interests in answering follow-up questions and running my business safely (Article 6(1)(f)).

Who handles your information

• Web3Forms (operated by Web3Creative, based in India) delivers the enquiry form to my email inbox and stores a copy. Its service providers include Amazon Web Services (including Amazon SES for email), Cloudflare and Hetzner. To protect against spam, Web3Forms may also check submissions using CleanTalk and Akismet, which receive the sender’s IP address and email address.
• Apple iCloud provides the email inbox where your enquiry arrives.
• Cloudflare hosts this website.
• WhatsApp handles any messages you send me there, under its own privacy policy.

I only share your information as needed for these services, or if the law requires it.

Information processed outside the UK

Web3Forms operates from India, and its service providers (including CleanTalk and Akismet in the United States) may process information outside the UK. Web3Forms states that it uses Standard Contractual Clauses, with the UK Addendum, to protect personal information transferred from the UK. Apple and Cloudflare may also process information outside the UK.

How long I keep it

There are two copies of each enquiry sent through the website form: the email that arrives in my Apple iCloud inbox, and a copy that Web3Forms stores.

• My records: I keep enquiries that do not lead to a booking for up to 12 months, then delete them. I keep records of confirmed bookings and invoices for 6 years, subject to legal requirements.
• Web3Forms’ copy: Web3Forms currently states that it keeps stored submissions for up to three years, after which they are deleted.

Your rights

You can ask me to:

• give you a copy of the information I hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete your information, or limit how I use it, where the law allows
• stop using it, if you object to how I am using it

To make a request, email jasonlmsimons@icloud.com with enough detail for me to find your enquiry. I will reply within one month.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, although I would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Cookies and fonts

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and does not set cookies itself, so there is no cookie banner. The fonts are stored on this website, so your browser does not contact Google or any other font service. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to protect the site from automated attacks.

Changes to this policy

I will update this page if anything changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. You can return to the booking enquiry form at any time.
